
Timings and Cut Offs
As with any event of this magnitude, we must impose cut-offs to ensure the smooth running of the event logistics and some parameters for your athletic endeavours. Whilst the cut-off times will constitute real time limits for this event, we want to give you the very best possible chance of completion, whichever class you choose. Hence our cut-off times will be as generous as possible for a journey of this magnitude. For the Experts, you should plan on being able to complete this journey in 18 hours as a base goal.
The timeline of the event is subject to change but here is an outline of the current running order:
Friday 31st May
Registration in central Edinburgh and bike drop at South Queensferry is encouraged.
Bus transport available for those wishing to leave a vehicle at the Glencoe Bike transition
Sat 1st June
Bike drop at South Queensferry available. No registration allowed on the day
Expert Tri Event Starts 0600 latest
Challenger Tri Event Starts 0700 latest
Challenger Duathlon Event Starts 0800 latest
Expert Cut-Off at Glencoe (Estimated 1800)
Challenger Cut-Off at Glencoe (Estimated 2000)
Expert Cut-Off at Ben Nevis (Estimated 2100)
Intermediate Cut-Offs may be announced at the pre-event
Expert Cut-Off at Finish (Estimated 0200)
Bus transit back to South Queensferry
Sun 2nd June
Challenger re-starts 0900 latest
Final Challenger Cut-Off at Finish (Estimated 2300)
Bus transit back to South Queensferry
Mon 3rd June
Final bus transports leave Fort William and Glencoe for South Queensferry
Bike transition area at South Queensferrry closes
